Montfort Drive Bridge Scheduled to Open Monday!

Montfort Before Finishing Touches to be Added This Week!

Remember when. . . ?

The LBJ Express Team demolished the first half of the bridge in 2011. Traffic was reduced down from 3 lanes in each direction with u-turns to 2 lanes in each direction with the u-turns closed.

Once the new columns were constructed and caps for the new bridge were formed, brand new beams were placed on the caps for the western half of the bridge over the main lanes of the LBJ Freeway.

After the preformed deck panels were placed over the new beams, the concrete was poured  on the western half of the bridge!

Traffic was switched over to the newly constructed half so that the eastern half of the bridge could be demolished and reconstructed.

What’s next. . . ?

The finishing touches are being performed on the bridge this week, and. . .

Montfort Before Finishing Touches to be Added This Week!

On Monday, July 30 the reconstructed bridge will open back up to 3 wider lanes in both the northbound & southbound directions along with u-turns!

Stay tuned for more updates and insights into construction along the LBJ Express Project.
