Permanent Closure – WB LBJ Exit Ramp to Hillcrest

The LBJ Express Project will close the westbound LBJ Freeway exit ramp to Hillcrest Road this weekend in order to construct future bypass ramps over Park Central for the final roadway configuration!

The Hillcrest Road exit ramp from westbound LBJ is scheduled to close permanently on Sunday in order to construct the future bypass ramps of the final roadway configuration. The final roadway configuration will have a westbound exit for Park Central Dr/Hillcrest Rd, but it will not be accessible from the High 5.

The LBJ Express Team has provided alternative routes to reaching Hillcrest Road from east of Hillcrest:

Northbound US-75 (Central Expressway) to Hillcrest Road:

NB US-75 traffic is directed to take the exit ramp for Coit Rd/Hillcrest Rd. Traffic will be directed to take a left (via signage) from Coit Road onto the WB LBJ frontage road to continue on to Hillcrest Road.

Southbound US-75 (Central  Expressway) to Hillcrest Road:

SB US-75 traffic is directed to take the exit ramp to Coit Rd/Hillcrest Rd. Once at Coit Road, traffic will be directed through the Coit Road signal light at the WB LBJ frontage road to continue on to Hillcrest Road.

Westbound I-635 (LBJ Freeway) to Hillcrest Road:

WB I-635 (LBJ) traffic coming from east of US-75 is directed to take the Park Central Dr/Hillcrest Rd exit ramp. Once at the Coit Road signal, traffic can continue on the WB LBJ frontage road to Hillcrest Road.

In coordination with the closure of the WB Hillcrest exit ramp, northbound Park Central Drive will also be closed underneath LBJ Freeway. This will enable those driving on the WB LBJ frontage road to continue driving without having to stop at the Park Central Drive stop sign.
