LBJ Express wins an award for business outreach/Marketplace
Dallas, Texas - The LBJ Express Project is proud to be the recipient of PR Daily’s first Corporate Social Responsibility Award for having the Best Stakeholder Outreach. The LBJ Express Marketplace and construction outreach to local businesses overpowered other entries such as mega powerhouse, Wal-mart.
“We are really proud of this honor,” said Andy Rittler, Corporate Affairs Director with the LBJ Infrastructure Group LLC, “And want businesses and consumers alike to know that we are doing our very best to complete this project on time so they can continue to enjoy all of the businesses and locations they know and use daily.”
The program was started in 2012 as part of the overall efforts by the project developer and contractor to keep businesses informed of work affecting them. Businesses are still accessible during construction and their doors are open for business. LBJ Express has taken on the responsibility to ensure that businesses along the corridor have the opportunity to get their message out about the various offerings they are providing to consumers that frequent I-635, the LBJ Express.
“We are proud to have a proactice partner like the LBJ Express Team,” said Maurice Pittman, TxDOT Project Manager. “Public outreach is essential for projects of this size and scope. LBJ Express has truly created a model to follow.”
“We have adopted a non-traditional public relations strategy of “boots on the ground”. We consistently reach out to businesses affected by construction on a daily basis to ensure they have the most up-to-date information and how it could potentially affect them. It’s important they have a face and a real person to reach out to during construction,” said Heather DeLapp, Public Relations Manager for the project’s design/build contractor Trinity Infrastructure.
The award was announced on March 5, 2013.
